Wrestler Labhanshu Sharma : National Bravery Award Winner 2015

 he had saved two persons from drowning in the Chilla canal on May 24 last year.


He had gone near the Chila canal for physical endurance as part of wrestling practice. Two persons from Delhi had come to visit the canal area. One of them went near the canal to drink water but slipped. Seeing this his companion tried to pull him out but as they did not know swimming they started drowning. Wrestler Labhanshu Sharma dived into the canal instantly and pulled them out.

A student of class X at Higher Secondary School, Baledi, Haridwar, Labhanshu wants to make it big in wrestling, which is his childhood passion.
 He has already won medals in inter-school, district, state and national level championships.
" With hard work, able guidance, exposure and support from my family I am sure I will be able to perform well at the international stage also,” said Labhanshu.
He closely follows bouts of Olympic medal winners Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Kumar and hopes to meet his idols soon so that he could take vital tips from the duo.

Labhanshu Sharma, 17, who had saved two lives last year and was felicitated by Chief Of The Indian Army Gen.Dalbir Singh  at the 66th Republic Day, now wants to make it big in wrestling.
